General Information
The GPS coordinates for the chateau are
Lat: 45.524840897878086
Lon: -0.5535871341766097
Be aware that most businesses in France close for lunch, but these hours vary quite a bit (usually any time from 12.00 to 16.00). If you can, check opening hours before going to places. Many businesses also close on Sundays, including supermarkets.
Motorways in France, known as autoroutes, have road tolls. You can recognise an autoroute by its name, which will begin with A, e.g. the A10. The tolls do not operate on a flat price however, but charge based on how far you travel. When you reach a road toll you will be issued a ticket from the machine. When you reach the exit toll, insert your ticket and it will calculate your charge. Bordeaux to the chateau should cost about €5.
If you are flying home from Bordeaux airport, bear in mind that once you go past security there is only one small café and a tiny duty free.
Just a handy warning; there is a speed camera between Pons and the Chateau just as you approach Pon!

Staying at the chateau
Check in at the chateau is at 5pm on the 23rd, but of course you are welcome to arrive any time after that. The latest time for check out is 10am on the 30th.
There are three large houses on the grounds of the estate, each with their own pool and barbecue. There are also 12 acres of parkland with ancient ruins to explore.
All linen and house towels are provided. However, you must provide your own towels to use at the pool or if you plan to go to the beach. We know this is really inconvenient, but the owners live at the chateau and will be helping us prepare the venue for the wedding, so it is not advisable to risk breaking this rule.
The kitchens are well equipped with cooking and eating utensils. There are irons, blow dryers, and tvs in all the houses. There is also free wifi, but because the houses are so large and have very thick walls, the reception isn’t great in some of the rooms.
Don’t forget to bring plug adapters for the electrical outlets!
